Education is a necessary component for the growth and prosperity of any country, but it is critical for developing economies. Studies show that educating girls is particularly important and can help reduce poverty as well as other social ills. In India, Dr. Urvashi Sahni strives to meet the growing need for girl’s education through her Study Hall Educational Foundation and the Prerna Girls School. Center for Universal Education director, Rebecca Winthrop talks with Sahni and says educating girls continues to be a problem in developing countries.
