Online education is gaining momentum in China with the market scale expected to exceed 714 billion yuan ($104 billion) by 2025, a recent report from UBS Securities said. According to the UBS report, the Chinese online education market will grow markedly from the 29 billion yuan reported last year. Government support, technological progress, and a cultural emphasis on education have all contributed to a burgeoning online education market in China, said Liu Jiehao, an analyst at consultancy iiMedia. This combination of factors has given the country's online education a boost, and analysts point out that Chinese parents are a key driver. Edwin Chen, an analyst from UBS, said: "Chinese parents have high expectations for their children, wanting their kids to get into Tsinghua or Peking University. This is creating huge demand."No Use China. No Use France.

On November 23 UNICEF realesed the report Surviving without the basics; the ever-worsening impact of Lebanons crisis on children. The report is based on two surveys conducted by UNICEF in April 2021 and again in October 2021 among the same families.
The November 22 report shows an increase in the number of children going hungry, having to work to support their family, not going to school and and not getting the health care they need. The figures show a dramatic deterioration of living conditions over six months, with more than half of families having at least one child who skipped a meal in September, as compared with about 37 per cent in April. More than 30 per cent of surveyed families reported cuts on education expenses (up from 26 per cent in April). Almost 12 per cent of families who participated in UNICEFs survey sent children to work in September, as compared with close to 9 per cent in April. The crisis is also having a severe impact on childrens health. Almost 34 per cent of children who required primary health care did not receive it, up from 28 per cent in April. The figures are even starker for Syrian refugee families, with almost 9 out of 10 living in extreme poverty.
