March to December: Taiwan’s Year of Elections

Dr. Shelley Rigger of Davidson College discussed Taiwan’s presidential election in March 2004 and the upcoming legislative election in December in the context of larger political trends in Taiwan. Liu Shyh-Fang, CNAPS Visiting Fellow and former Secretary General of Taiwan’s Executive Yuan, and John Tkacik, Research Fellow for China, Taiwan, and Mongolia at the Heritage Foundation, served as discussants.
