This week, Brookings launched PlanetPolicy, a blog exploring environment and natural resources policy—from climate change to energy to water, and from the local to the national to the global.

As Brookings President Strobe Talbott wrote in the inaugural blog post:

the accumulation of greenhouse gas emissions from the human enterprise constitutes a threat to the planet. That makes climate change the most urgent, consequential, dangerous, and difficult challenge of our time.

“Across all of Brookings,” wrote Talbott, “we hope to play our part in reinvigorating the public debate and designing smart policies that can reduce carbon emissions, without sacrificing energy security or American competitiveness. It is with that in mind that we launch this blog.”
