Their presentation showed how the region is growing, decentralizing, and becoming more diverse through immigration and other demographic processes. While the Washington area boasts a unique economy that is weathering the recession better than most other metro areas, there are significant income and educational disparities across race and ethnic groups and by jurisdiction.
