On March 3, Brookings hosted Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) for a discussion of their recent trip to the Middle East. McCain is the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, and Lieberman chairs the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The two discussed the unrest across the Middle East and North Africa, and what the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya mean for U.S. relations with the broader region.
Brookings President Strobe Talbott provided introductory remarks, and Senior Fellow Robert Kagan moderated the discussion.
