On Thursday, March 31, the Foreign Policy program at Brookings hosted President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for an address on the global challenges facing the Republic of Turkey as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2023. President Erdoğan also discussed his goals for Turkey over the coming decade, its relations with Europe, and challenges posed by instability in the Middle East. Brookings President Strobe Talbott provided opening remarks, and Executive Vice President Martin Indyk moderated a discussion following President Erdoğan’s opening remarks.
