On May 29, the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform at Brookings held a roundtable webinar, “Developing Methods for Timely and Frequent Data Accrual in Vaccine Safety Surveillance.” During this webinar, Dr. Katherine Yih, an epidemiologist and lecturer at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School, discussed the opportunities and challenges in accessing the freshest feasible data for use in medical product safety surveillance. This presentation included recent progress in developing an approach to using fresher data for prospective near real-time influenza vaccine safety surveillance.
