Jaswant Singh, former Indian external affairs minister and current member of parliament, and Strobe Talbott, former deputy secretary of State and current president of the Brookings Institution, spoke at SAIS on Wednesday, November 1 about “A Consequential India-U.S. Engagement.” They discussed the impact of their critical meetings held in the wake of India’s 1998 nuclear tests, ultimately laying the groundwork for the current movement to build a firm strategic relationship between India and the United States.
