Hyeok Yong Kwon is a professor of Political Science and director of the Institute for Political Research at Korea University (KUIPR).. He is a political economist who broadly studies the linkage between the democratic competition, accountability and representation, and modern capitalism. His research centers on inequality and democratic politics, the political economy of electoral competition, the politics of the welfare state, and globalization and political behavior.
