Grzegorz Peszko is a Lead Economist in the Environment, Natural Resources & Blue Economy Global Practice of the World Bank and co-led the publication of the Changing Wealth of Nations. He has over 30 years of development policy and project experience in economic, energy, environmental and natural resources management issues. Prior to the World Bank, he worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), academia (professor at the Krakow University of Economics), the government (Polish Ministry of Environment), and financial institutions (Malopolska Environmental Investment Fund). He also worked as a consultant for various private and public clients, as well as a radio and TV journalist, and a tram driver. He was the Lead Author of the IPCC 3rd Assessment Report and is a contributing author of the forthcoming IPCC 6th AR. He has a PhD in economics from the Krakow University of Economics, MSc in natural resource economics from the University College London, and MSc in Political Sciences from the Krakow Jagiellonian University. He published extensively, most recently a book “Diversification and Cooperation in a Decarbonizing World – Climate Strategies for Fossil Fuel–Dependent Countries.”
