International air travel is booming and that’s good news for U.S. metros. With the nation’s 100 largest metros handling 96-percent of air travel in and out of the country, this mode of travel offers metros a means to develop trade opportunities beyond the nation’s borders. New research from Associate Fellow Adie Tomer underscores the need for federal and local government policies to help expand and improve international aviation connections.
