JoAnn Fan is a venture capitalist and board director at the Cheng-An Investment Company. Her areas of interest include cross-Strait trade and investment, as well as venture capitalism and entrepreneurship in the Greater China region. Fan has 15 years of cross-border financing and venture experiences to date. Her previous experiences include serving as assistant vice president in the CFO Office at SinoPac Holdings, a regional Taiwanese financial group, and as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan Chase and Bankers Trust Company (now part of Deutsche Bank), where she executed M&A and financing transactions in North America and Asia. Fan also sourced and fundraised for Vincera Ventures, a private Taiwanese venture capital firm, and was a co-founder of Cross Web Ventures, a start-up incubator. Additionally, she was deputy director at Taiwan International Alliance, a transpacific public relations organization.

Fan holds a Master in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. She received her undergraduate education at Barnard College. Fan is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Association of Taiwan, a chapter of an international credential organization for finance and investment professionals.
