The impact of Iran’s attack on Israel
As revolution and political change continue to unfold across the Arab world, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI is among the few Middle Eastern leaders proactively embracing substantive reform. In a recent address, King Mohammed announced sweeping changes, aimed at addressing the Moroccan people’s appeals for constitutional reform and representative government.
On March 23, the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings hosted Moroccan Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri who delivered King Mohammed’s message of reform. Minister Fihri’s appearance marked the first Washington visit by an Arab foreign minister since the fall of Mubarak. Minister Fihri discussed Morocco’s reforms and the challenges facing the wider Arab world today. Vice President Martin Indyk, director of Foreign Policy at Brookings, provided introductory remarks and moderated the discussion.
