Bush’s Trip to the Middle East: Will the “Road Map” Revive the Peace Process?
After President Bush’s trip to the Middle East, a panel of Brookings experts will assess his meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas in Jordan and with Arab leaders in Egypt.
The Brookings specialists also will discuss the reconstruction effort in Iraq and the difficulty in finding weapons of mass destruction—and address the question of whether the conflict in Iraq will interfere with U.S. efforts to broker a peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
