Jürgen Trittin, Germany’s Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety, will appear at the Brookings Institution Tuesday to discuss global warming, environmental politics, and U.S.-European relations as they relate to environmental issues.

Trittin, a member of Germany’s Green Party and one of the longest-serving environment ministers in Europe, has played an active role in the Kyoto negotiations and in decisions to phase out nuclear power plants in Germany. After his address, he will take questions from the audience.
