General Ehsan has had a distinguished career in the Pakistan army. He joined the army in October 1969 as an Air Defense Officer and rose to the position of Corps Commander Peshawar. After 9/11 General Ehsan was appointed head of the Inter Services Intelligence Directorate. He was appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs in 2004.
After brief remarks, Gen. Ehsan discussed a number of current topics of interest, including Pakistan’s relations with India, its nuclear program, and the current conflict in Afghanistan.
