Carl Romer is a Research Assistant at the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program. Under the direction of Senior Fellow Andre Perry, Romer researches the economic patterns of Black households and Black-owned businesses at the national, metropolitan, and neighborhood level. Outside of his work at Brookings, Romer works on economic forecasting for the US desk at the OECD. Before joining Brookings Metro, Romer interned with the Program for Race, Ethnicity and the Economy at the Economic Policy Institute. Romer holds a bachelor’s degree from Howard University where he studied economics and philosophy.
