Vice President, Strategy and Operations
As Vice President of Strategy and Operations, Jennifer Berlin directs strategic planning efforts for the Institution and leads the development and implementation of a wide range of organizational initiatives. She also oversees campus operations, facilities, and security. Jen was previously Vice President and Chief of Staff for Brookings.
Before joining the Institution, Jen served in the U.S. Government as a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Acting Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Commerce, Press Secretary for the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and Deputy Press Secretary in the Office of U.S. Senator Jack Reed. She also worked in the Public Sector Practice of McKinsey & Company, in the Meetings Program of the Council on Foreign Relations, and at Condé Nast Media Group.
Originally from the DC Metro Area, Jen received her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University and her Master of Arts in Strategic Studies from the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
Outside of Brookings, Jen is providing outside informal counsel exclusively to the Biden team.
