Jennifer Daugherity

Jennifer H. Daugherity is the chief of staff to the president of the Brookings Institution. She most recently served as a senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to the Secretary of the Army. In that role, she worked with leaders across the Army to advance strategic priorities, including infrastructure investments and soldier quality of life issues. She led high-level communications with Congress, ensured coordination between Army senior leaders, and helped lead internal transitions during critical periods of change. Prior to her time at the Pentagon, Daugherity served in a number of policy, budget, communications, and foreign assistance roles at the U.S. Department of State. She began her career serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bolivia.

Daugherity received her master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and her bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany.
