Sanja Madzarevic-Sujster is a Senior Economist in the Macroeonomics, Trade and Investment Global Practice of The World Bank Group. Since joining the Bank in 1999, she has worked on European Union countries, Western Balkans, and Sub-Saharan African countries. She is currently Senior Economist for the World Bank’s North Macedonia program. Prior to the Bank, she worked in the Ministry of Finance, Croatia, and the Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting, Croatia, and also held an associate lecturer position as the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. She holds a MSc in Economics from the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Areas of her research and policy advisory work focuses on fiscal policy, governance, social sectors, competitiveness, and informal economy.
