Mirette F. Mabrouk was a nonresident fellow with the Project on U.S. Relations with the Islamic World in the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings. She was previously a director of communications for the Economic Research Forum and an associate director for publishing operations at the American University in Cairo Press.
