Mariano Tommasi is professor of economics and director of the Centro de Estudios para el Desarrollo Humano at Universidad de San Andrés in Argentina and fellow of the Econometric Society. Previously, he was a nonresident senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development program. At Brookings, he specialized in institutional analysis and political economy with a focus on Latin America.
