Former Assistant Director of Analysis and Production – Central Intelligence Agency, Former Chairman – National Intelligence Council

John Gannon served as the CIA’s Director of European Analysis, as Deputy Director for Intelligence, Assistant Director of Central Intelligence for Analysis and Production, and as Chairman of the National Intelligence Council. After his retirement from the CIA, he served in the White House as the head of the intelligence team standing up the Department of Homeland Security and later on the Hill as the staff director of the House Select Committee on Homeland Security. In 2004, President George W. Bush awarded Gannon the National Security Medal, the nation’s highest intelligence award. Gannon earned his BA in psychology at Holy Cross College, and his MA and PhD in history at Washington University in St. Louis. He is a retired Captain in the Naval Reserve and a Vietnam veteran.
