Colonel Amy R. Ebitz (USMC) joins Brookings as a 2018-2019 Federal Executive Fellow. She was most recently assigned to the Joint Staff Current Operations Division, Operations Directorate as the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Branch Head. Prior to that assignment, Col. Ebitz was forward deployed to the III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan as the Commanding Officer of the 3d Law Enforcement Battalion. She has also served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and numerous other operations worldwide. Col. Ebitz earned her bachelor’s degree from Cameron University in Oklahoma. She is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, and holds master’s degrees in Military Studies, from the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and Strategic Studies, from the U.S. Marine Corps War College.
