Boban Varghese Paul

Boban Varghese Paul is a consultant and incoming Young Professional at the World Bank. Since joining the World Bank in 2015, he has been working primarily on issues related to social safety nets globally and particularly in urban Sub-Saharan Africa. He was co-author of the Universal Basic Income Chapter for the Economic Survey of India 2016-17 where he also worked closely with the Chief Economic Advisor of India on evaluating the effect of India’s demonetization effort. He did his undergraduate in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and graduated from the MPA/ID program at Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to graduate school, he spent 5 years in a private consulting firm in India and Singapore, as well as in India’s largest education NGO, Pratham, heading their programs management and review team.
