He provides commentary on military and security issues for newspapers (including the New York Times and Financial Times), radio (BBC, CBC Radio, VOA, Radio Canada International), and television (CBC Newsworld, CTV Newsnet, and others). His most recent book is A Military History of Modern Egypt (Praeger Security International, 2006).
