Washington, D.C. – U.S.-China competition is the defining geopolitical challenge of this generation. In a new podcast series, “The Beijing Brief,” Brookings experts will take listeners behind the scenes in Washington and Beijing to understand the issues driving the most critical relationship of our time.

Episodes will feature in-depth conversations with Brookings scholars and guest experts on the long-term trends shaping the U.S.-China relationship, as well as China’s domestic politics, technology ecosystem, economy, and foreign policy.

“The Beijing Brief” is co-hosted by Ryan Hass, director of Brookings’ John. L Thornton China Center, and Jonathan Czin, Michael H. Armacost chair in Foreign Policy and a fellow in the China Center.

In the first episode of “The Beijing Brief,” Hass and Czin sit down with Patricia Kim and Kyle Chan, fellows in the China Center, to unpack the current state of U.S.-China relations, the postponement of the Trump-Xi summit, the impact of the Iran war on U.S.-China dynamics, and more.
