Melanie Rose

Melanie Rose is the Managing Director for the Economic Studies program at Brookings. As a member of the Economic Studies leadership team, she is an advisor on a wide range of strategic issues and develops operational plans to achieve strategic goals.  Melanie joined Brookings in November of 2020 and has over a decade of experience in leading research, educational, and public information programs.  Prior to joining Brookings, Melanie was the Assistant Vice President for Research Administration at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond after having served as the Director of Economic Education at the Reserve Bank. A native of the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, Melanie earned a B.A. degree in economics from the College of William and Mary, an M.A. degree in economics from Old Dominion University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Old Dominion University.
