The 2024 presidential election took place almost two and a half years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, taking away the constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy. Since Roe’s fall, a number of states have enacted near-total abortion bans and severe restrictions. Races at the national and state levels, along with state-level ballot initiatives, will shape the future of reproductive rights and health care in the United States and across the globe.
On November 15, the Governance Studies program at Brookings held a post-election webinar about the key issues and challenges for restoring reproductive rights and providing access to reproductive health care for all individuals and communities.
