Brookings launched a national initiative aimed at increasing the number of U.S. volunteers in international service as part of an International Volunteering Leadership Forum featuring government, corporate and civil society leaders.
In conjunction with International Volunteer Day on December 5, sponsored by United Nations Volunteers, Brookings hosted the event with representatives from more than 100 organizations to discuss how to achieve the initiative’s goal of doubling U.S. volunteers overseas, and enhancing multilateral capacity and impact over the next three years.
