Chief of Police – City of Elizabeth, New Jersey

Giacomo Sacca is currently the Chief of Police for the City of Elizabeth, New Jersey. He is the highest-ranking officer in the police department, responsible for all police operations. Chief Sacca has twenty-eight years of experience as a police officer and agency supervisor. Chief Sacca served as a supervisor in the uniformed services and investigative bureaus of the police department. Before earning his role as the agency administrator, Chief Sacca served as the Commanding Officer of the Emergency Service Unit, Patrol Division, Narcotics Unit, and Training Division.  Chief Sacca’s current responsibilities include the management of daily operations, strategic planning for the agency, and ensuring the resource needs of the 365 sworn members of the department.

 

Chief Sacca is the current President of the Union County Police Chief’s Association. Chief Sacca serves as the Superintendent of the John H. Stamler Police Academy and the Chairman of the Union County Law Enforcement Officer Memorial project. Chief Sacca also serves as an Executive Board Member of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey.
