At the Congressional Health Care Caucus’ recent policy forum on improving quality, Engelberg Center Director Mark McClellan emphasized the need to build a health care system that supports better care at lower costs as the main priority for reform.
During his remarks, McClellan expressed optimism about health care reform efforts, noting that policy changes must support getting to a system of better care at lower costs. He highlighted four key issues policymakers must consider, including measurement of patient outcomes, payment reform, benefit reform, and developing better evidence.
