IMF 2012 Annual Meeting: Venturing Into Uncharted Waters

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank annual meetings come at a time when uncertainties about the global economy are growing because of the expanding European debt crisis, the threat of the “fiscal cliff” in the U.S., and economic slowdowns in China, India and other growing economies. As leaders converge on Japan to begin their dialogue on these pressing issues, they’re facing challenges that will take them into uncharted waters, notes Senior Fellow Domenico Lombardi.
