Daniel Benjamin joins guest host Andrea Seabrooke; Kamran Bokhari, director of Middle East analysis, Strategic Forecasting Inc.; Peter Brookes, senior fellow for national security affairs, the Heritage Foundation; and Ahmed Rashid, correspondent, Far Eastern Economic Review and the Daily Telegraph. The discussion centers itself on the upcoming National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) concerning al Qaeda’s resurgence and what has become an increased risk of a new attack on U.S. soil. The NIE is expected to detail new threats from al Qaeda that are due in large part to a safe haven in Pakistan, persistence in Iraq and continued growth in other regions of the world.
