With violence among extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank on the rise, Fellow Natan B. Sachs notes the importance of addressing this issue, in particular because of the stalemate in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. According to Sachs, the U.S. needs to encourage Israel to take the steps that it needs to jumpstart the peace process, and to designate the perpetrators of this violence as terrorists. Sachs and Senior Fellow Daniel Byman commented on the rise in settler violence in the West Bank in an article for Foreign Affairs magazine.
