The New Infrastructure Partnership is a bipartisan task force comprised of former and current state and local elected officials to design a renewed approach to infrastructure policy—one that prioritizes shared outcomes, removes barriers to innovation, and rebuilds public trust in the nation’s infrastructure agenda.
Convened by the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, the partnership is co-chaired by former governors John W. Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) and Bill Haslam (R-Tenn.) with Mayor Stephen K. Benjamin of Columbia, S.C., who is also president of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. DJ Gribbin, Former White House infrastructure advisor and U.S. Department of Transportation General Counsel, group’s Executive Chairman, and Brookings fellow Adie Tomer.

Together, the bipartisan task force will develop a set of actionable policy recommendations that: accommodates new infrastructure demands driven by changing demographics, consumer demand, and technology; provides a long-term solution to the chronic under-investment in infrastructure; and restores public trust in infrastructure spending. With the coming 2020 national elections and continuous innovation at the state and local level, The New Infrastructure Partnership comes at an ideal time to rethink American infrastructure policy for the next century.
