Responding to a speech by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in which she urged Saudi Arabia and Qatar to do more to stop its citizens from funding extremism, Bruce Riedel details the history of Saudi efforts to export its own brand of Islam around the world, which benefited the community, but also fueled its least tolerant and most extreme elements. Riedel argues that Saudi Arabia has been a very effective ally against terrorist groups, but more needs to be done.
