Summary

On October 27, the Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies (CNAPS) hosted a presentation by Kim Kwangjin, visiting fellow at the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, of his report on North Korean succession and human rights issues. Mr. Kim defected from North Korea in 2003, and was previously manager of North Korea’s Northeast Asia Bank in Singapore and representative of the Korea National Insurance Corporation. This discussion also featured Roberta Cohen of Brookings, Bruce Klingner of the Heritage Foundation and Chuck Downs, executive director of the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea.

CNAPS Director Richard Bush introduced Mr. Kim and provided opening remarks.
