The impact of Iran’s attack on Israel
On April 8, the Brookings Institution hosted noted writer and historian William Dalrymple for a discussion of his highly respected book The Last Mughal, The Fall of a Dynasty: Delhi, 1857 (Bloomsbury, 2006). During his remarks, Mr. Dalrymple also touched upon U.S. relations with the Islamic world as well as recent political developments in Pakistan.
Mr. Dalrymple is the author of several award-winning and bestselling books on travel and history including In Xanadu (1989), City of Djinns (1993), From the Holy Mountain (1997), The Age of Kali (1998), and White Mughals (2002). His most recent book, The Last Mughal won the Duff Cooper Prize for History and Biography. He has also written and presented the television series Stones of the Raj and Indian Journeys, as well as The Long Search, a radio series on the history of British spirituality and mysticism. Brookings President Strobe Talbott provided introductory remarks and moderated the discussion.
