[On the land use needs of renewable energy in the United States] We think about decarbonization as something we can just do. When you start thinking about the land use issue, it may not be quite as easy as we want it to be. I don't want us to discount that.
To continue and accelerate the U.S. economy's downward trend in [greenhouse gas] emissions, we need to focus on these sectors also, on efficiency and on developing lower-emissions processes in high-emissions industries like steel and cement.
[On progress toward global climate goals] The world is on track for a 3-degree increase of temperature, which is way too high.
