Soares is currently Associate Professor of Economics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio); affiliated fellow at the Brazilian Academy of Sciences; research fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA, Germany), and research affiliate at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab, Latin America Office (J-PAL Latin America).
