Maricarmen Barron Esper is a senior research analyst in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution. She works on topics including economic development, international trade policy, and regional cooperation. Prior to Brookings, Maricarmen worked on international development projects, and most recently doing research at The World Bank.
