Barry Naughton is an economist and professor at the University of California, San Diego. He has published extensively on the Chinese economy, with a focus on four interrelated areas: economic transition, industry and technology, foreign trade, and Chinese political economy. He was a nonresident senior fellow with the John L. Thornton China Center at Brookings.
