Adrienne Lu is a senior associate on the state and local fiscal health portfolio at The Pew Charitable Trusts. She conducts research on the fiscal health of state and local governments and currently leads a project that assesses how states detect fiscal distress in local governments. Previously, Lu wrote about trends in state education policy for Stateline, the news and information service at Pew. Prior to joining Pew, Lu covered state, county, and municipal government beats at The Chicago News Cooperative, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Record (Bergen County, NJ) and The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC). Lu holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from Williams College.
