Smart Growth and Community Development: The Necessary Connection

This presentation was given by Bruce Katz to the Federal Reserve Bank. The presentation examines the general trends affecting metropolitan areas including population and employment decentralization and the cost of this decentralization. It examines the emerging smart growth agenda and proposes several policy reforms. The presentation concludes by examining the relationship between smart growth and community development.
