U.S. companies invest generously in education. Collectively, major corporations donate nearly a half billion dollars to help promote education in developing countries. Despite the generous effort, studies show that corporate donations all too frequently fail to reach the populations for whom they’re intended. Fellow Justin van Fleet says if corporate philanthropy is going to work, companies need to analyze how and where their efforts fall short.
