Season 2 of ‘Climate Sense’ podcast explores transition to zero-carbon system

September 10, 2024

Washington, D.C. – What will it take to achieve a net-zero world? In the second season of Climate Sensehost Samantha Gross tackles the complexities of transitioning to an energy system without greenhouse gas emissions, breaking down the technical, political, and social challenges involved. This season explores topics from hydrogen and nuclear power to climate finance, China’s global impact, and the influence of climate activism.

“How can we reduce greenhouse gas emissions, motivate businesses and people to act, and pay for all the change we need?” asks Gross. “The situation is not hopeless at all, but we need smart solutions. We need to focus on deploying the technologies we have and to pick the low-hanging fruit first. I’m an optimist by nature, and I look forward to sharing some of that optimism with you.”

In the season premiere, Samantha Gross is joined by the president of Energy Futures Initiative and former Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz to learn about hydrogen’s importance in achieving a zero-carbon future.
