Content from the Brookings-Tsinghua Public Policy Center is now archived. Since October 1, 2020, Brookings has maintained a limited partnership with Tsinghua University School of Public Policy and Management that is intended to facilitate jointly organized dialogues, meetings, and/or events.
On March 30, 2015, the Brookings-Tsinghua Center hosted a public lecture on China’s investment in Europe, featuring Philippe Le Corre of Brookings’ Center on the United States and Europe, co-author of the recently published book L’Offensive chinoise en Europe, and Feng Zhongping, Vice President of China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, as guest commentator. The speakers provided their observations on the booming Chinese overseas investment, the opportunities and challenges for Chinese firms in Europe, and the evolving China-Europe relations.
Philippe Le Corre is a visiting fellow of the Center on the United States and Europe at The Brookings Institution. His research focuses on Asia-Europe political and economic relations, and China’s foreign policy. Le Corre spent almost 10 years as China correspondent for Radio France International between 1988 and 1998. He has since travelled frequently to China as an Adviser to the French Minister of Defense, as a scholar and as a lecturer for Sciences Po University and HEC Business School.
