Each year, the Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) produces the Economic Report of the President (ERP) to provide an overview of the state of the U.S. economy and highlight the administration’s economic policy goals.
On January 15, the Brookings Economic Studies program hosted CEA senior economists and authors of the 2025 ERP to discuss several chapters of this year’s report. CEA Chair Jared Bernstein opened with an overview of the report, followed by CEA Senior Economists Kathryn Holston, Gregory Casey, and Laura Wherry, who presented on macro, climate, and health policy, respectively. A reaction panel followed to address the larger question of “What is good governance?”
Viewers joined the conversation and asked questions in advance by emailing [email protected] or on X @BrookingsEcon using the hashtag #ERP.
